Colouring

Heres the 90% finished version of panels I posted previously. Just gotta work on the saturation levels and make some slight colour and atmospheric changes so that it doesnt look to shiney and bright

Age of Heroes

Here is a large element of the cover for the book. I really enjoy drawing in this goldenage superman style. Hopefully once the cover is complete it will give a hint into whats gonna happen over the course of the issue and once you have read the ending it be apparent why the cover is the way it is.
I kinda want this book to be really simple to get into. Its designed so that you dont need the back stories of any of the heroes as its not really about them. Infact if you want those three characters could well be Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman, it really doesnt matter. Anyways thats enough about it, I hate talking to much about it as it could well turn out to be a big load of crap. Atleast we'll find out soon though as Im pretty much finished the first issue. Infact I have about 6 pages coloured out of the 25 that are in it.
In other news im actually a few days behind on AOH from where I planned as I've started working on my next book. I cant say too much about it now except that its for an American company and its for something that I am really really gonna having a blast drawing.

Bishop

Warm up piece for the day. I feckin love Bishops storyline at the moment. All that X-men in the future stuff is just plain great and reminds me of when I really got into them back in the early ninties. Even the new Wolverine cartoon is top notch, basically when mutantkind is being imprisoned and persecuted its just awesome

More Star Wars

What, a whole month without a Star Wars drawing?? Im slipping. This is supposed to be through the eyes of Luke at the end of Empire Strikes back. Im thinking of doing a series of drawings from different movies that are though the eys of a character, just to offer a slightly different perspective on already famous scenes. Next up is gonna be a scene from ghostbusters where they finally meet Slimer. Anybody got any suggestions for any others??

Atomic Batteries to power

So I had a disaster a few weeks ago with my all my art gear being destroyed including my laptop. I had been working at my own book, flying at it actually. It probably would have been finished by now actually aside from the colouring. (I still dont know if Im going to chance that myself)
Anyways, im back in action now, and to get back into it I started messing around with a Batman 4 pager. Ill have the full thing, letters and all up in a few days.

The Age of heroes

Heres a panel from my own book which is well underway right now. To be honest, this is the most fun I've had drawing in years. I think its because Im getting to have total control over the camera angles and the pacing etc (yeah Im a freak for things like that.) In a lot of ways its reminding me of doing a 3d animation or a short film over again, which was always fun but limited in terms of scope.
In all seriousness the pages are flying out and I should have the whole first issue drawn and lettered by the end of the month to show around to a few people in the Indstry and to see where to go with it.

Doodling like mad

So I just finished my last page of Richard III bar the covers so Im feeling pretty good. Got the last page done aswell as a few sketches today. Heres a page in the style of the Clone Wars movie. (Star Wars again I know) and a Bizarro sketch.
Also I've been reformatting the blog quite a bit lately to include a 2d and 3d portfolio section. Theyre about halfways done at this present time. (The 3d section being the closest)
Starting my own book next week. Cant wait!!!

The Age of Heroes

So I'm half thinking of changing up style for the Age of Heroes book that I'll be doing at my own pace. Keeping it more cartoon like with maybe even a touch of silver age to it. The only thing is I think this would suit the start of the book but not the second part of it which gets a lot more apocalyptic. Hmm, tough one.

Edit:

Actually that above post gave me an idea how to mix things in. Think im gonna go way back to the 30's Superman style for certain points of the story
Edit 2:

Actually I think I might use the following pic as part of the first panel of the book. Its quite obviously meant to be simular the the first Superman comics which is a subtle plot point of the book

San Diego

So Im back from San Diego just about avoiding the earthquake among many other natural disasters that hit downtown and the Hyatt in particular. Some really great things happened there for me. One of them has to have been introduced to Sketchbook pro by the guys over at creature box, (check the link over to the right)
Therell be a lot of stuff appearing on here over the next month or so that Im pretty excited about so keep on checking in.
Ps, best thing I got there amongst a lot of really nice book has to be Charests Spacegirl, man that guy is just leagues ahead of everybody else in the game
